Elvis Presley grenade shirts and vinyls. The passion for Turin and for music accompanied the funeral of the former footballer and coach who passed away on 2 January
The last farewell to Aldo Agroppi, former footballer and coach who passed away on January 2nd, was held on the morning of January 4th in the Church of Sant’Antimo in Piombino. The official banners of Torino and Fiorentina, with mourning stripes, remained displayed on the sides of the coffin throughout the ceremony. On the coffin are the shirts of Torino – the team with which he played over 200 matches in Serie A – and Fiorentina, which he coached in two periods. The coffin left the church to the tune of Are You Lonesome Tonight of Elvis Presley, his musical idol. Present for the final farewell were dozens and dozens of people, friends and fellow citizens, as well as former Torino players, Angelo Cereser and Claudio Sala, and those of Fiorentina, Giancarlo Antognoni and Beppe Iachini, with former Viola manager Claudio Nassi.
