Bayern talent Frans Krätzig (21) is staying in the Bundesliga after the canceled loan at VfB Stuttgart and is moving to 1. FC Heidenheim for the rest of the season. After Paul Wanner (19), he is the second German U21 national player to be brought on loan from Munich by the Conference League participant.

Krätzig, whose contract with FC Bayern is valid until 2027, was originally supposed to spend the entire season at VfB, but after six months he had only played 188 minutes spread over four appearances and one assist. Now he is strengthening Heidenheim’s left defense, which in the league was primarily occupied by Jonas Föhrenbach (28). Föhrenbach was allowed to start on all 15 match days and has the third most minutes in the FCH squad with 1,272 minutes.

“With Frans Krätzig we can borrow a highly talented FC Bayern player who has enormous potential until the end of the season. He can play as a left-back and in left midfield. We are very pleased that Frans now wants to take the next steps in his young career with us,” said Heidenheim’s CEO Holger Sanwald about the second transfer on Friday. Previously, Budu Zivzivadze (30), the current top scorer in the 2nd Bundesliga, was released from Karlsruher SC.
