Michael van Gerwen met Chris Dobey in the World Cup semi-finals. The Dutchman was the clear favorite – and had no problems.
The semi-final was a bit too big for Chris Dobey. The English fan favorite had to accept a clear defeat in the semi-finals of the Darts World Cup against Michael van Gerwen in the “Ally Pally”. The Dutchman van Gerwen won 6-1 and now has the chance to win his fourth world championship title.
“Mighty Mike” was particularly confident at the start on the double fields, while Dobey left a lot behind at the beginning. When Dobey won the third set and put real pressure on van Gerwen for the first time, the Dutchman responded with a 3-0 win in the fourth set. Dobey shouldn’t really recover from that. His first semi-final was not to be followed by his first final.
