There has been regular speculation about Donyell Malen’s possible departure from Borussia Dortmund for around 13 months – is it now becoming concrete? According to reports from England, the “Picture“that Champions League participants Aston Villa have expressed interest in the 25-year-old Dutchman. A concrete first offer was also reported later on Thursday.

Malen is contractually bound to BVB until 2026, but according to reports he is likely to receive a transfer fee of 25 million euros or more. The attacker’s market value recently fell significantly by 12 million euros to 28 million euros in the Bundesliga update. Malen does not have a regular place under Nuri Şahin; he was on the field for 945 minutes in 20 games this season, i.e. only around half of the possible playing time (5 goals/1 assist).
Update 11:58 a.m.: According to the portal “The AthleticVilla’s first bid for painting is 18 million euros, not enough for Dortmund’s expectations. However, the talks should continue.
It is said that Aston Villa wants to increase its personnel so as not to lose touch with the European places. Last season the club reached fourth place in the Premier League for the first time since 1996, but is currently only in ninth place. The Villans are already six points behind the Champions League places. There have only been three wins in the league since the end of October; before that, coach Unai Emery’s team had only lost one out of nine games. There have now been five bankruptcies.
