Ebusco, manufacturer of electric buses in Deurne, will cut 102 jobs. That is part of the reorganizations that the company is implementing. This corresponds to 16.5 percent of the total number of jobs, the company announced.

The job cuts will probably happen in the first quarter of 2025. “Ebusco has submitted a request to the UWV and informed the unions of its intentions,” says the Deurne company. The affected employees are mainly active in production, warehouse and facility departments.

CEO Christian Schreyer emphasizes that the round of layoffs is a necessary step to restore Ebusco’s financial health. Earlier this year, the company announced that jobs would be lost and production was temporarily halted to save costs.

Major financial problems
Ebusco previously faced major financial problems, including overdue payments and fines for late delivery of buses. These amounted to tens of millions of euros. To stay afloat, the company issued 36 million euros in new shares. This step has saved the listed company from Deurne from collapse for the time being.
