What will happen next for Leroy Sané remains to be seen. Players and club are talking – but a decision will be further delayed.
Leroy Sané’s future at FC Bayern remains uncertain. His contract with the German record champions expires at the end of the season. While Sané has clearly committed himself to the club and would apparently even be willing to waive his salary, those responsible at FC Bayern seem to be more skeptical about an extension.
According to a report by “Sport Bild”, the Bayern bosses are said to have held internal discussions before Christmas in which continued cooperation was critically assessed and the thumbs down were initially lowered. Therefore, patience with Sané, who was rarely able to consistently utilize his great potential, seems to have run out. There are many signs that a separation could happen in the summer after five years.
And Sané? The offensive player wants to prove to the club bosses that he is still a force to be reckoned with. The German international is currently on Christmas vacation in Los Angeles and is training there with a private trainer in order to start the second half of the season in top shape.
According to “Sport Bild”, discussions between the club and player are continuing. It is still unclear when a final decision will be made in contract poker.
