According to Dave Roelvink, it is not easy to be a divorced parent. He walks into the podcast NandoLeaks completely blank about the negative aspects of part-time parenting. For example, he finds it difficult that he cannot see his child every day and recently found it difficult when his son shouted that he would rather go back to his mother.
Frustration
Story boss Guido den Aantrekker also thinks it is a bit of his own fault. “I understand his frustration about this, but – and I also think the same about Thomas Berge, for example – these boys bring children into the world very quickly, don’t they? They often have short relationships that almost end before the child is 1 year old.”
He continues at the desk Show news: “I would actually like to plead with artists for a kind of trial period. First, go and make sure you are and remain happy with your own wife for a year.”
A little longer
Colleague Bart Ettekoven thinks that is a bit short. “One year?! Shouldn’t we do that a little longer?”
Guido: “Yes, ideally, but I have the feeling that these boys see it as the highest good to become fathers right away.”
Anouk Smulders: “That’s not just with these guys, right? That might be more the generation, right?”
“Think about it!”
Guido finds Dave’s behavior irresponsible. “It is very easy to say: ‘I hate that I no longer see my son’, but maybe think about it a little longer in advance.”
“For children it is always a drama, a divorce, and I think you should think a little longer before fathering a child.”
