Scheperkamp has to make up a margin of 1.87 seconds over De Boo in the final 1000 meters. The difference between the Hilversummer and Tim Prins (number three) and Joep Wennemars (number four) is almost 3 seconds. There is a good chance that Scheperkamp will go to the European Sprint Championships. The best three sprinters from the National Championships qualify for the European Sprint Championships. That tournament will be held on January 10 and 11 in Thialf.
