Fourteen prison employees have been fired in the US state of New York after bodycam video revealed them severely assaulting an inmate. 43-year-old Robert Brooks, who was serving a twelve-year prison sentence for assault, died from his injuries a day after the incident. Governor Kathy Hochul ordered them fired and announced an in-depth investigation.
