A 25-year-old Belgian with Albanian roots has been convicted by a Russian court for going to fight as a mercenary in Ukraine in 2022. Russian media report this based on the prosecutor’s office in Moscow. The man – called ‘Dzhetmir Khuseyn’ – has to go to a prison camp for six years. He previously testified in American media about a Russian attack on the training camp where he was staying and admitted that he was not ready for the war: “I’m going back home.”
