A helpful glazier who came to replace a window in Roosendaal on Tuesday evening after a burglary had to surrender his driver’s license. It turned out that he had had far too much to drink to get behind the wheel in the morning.
Officers received a report of a burglary on Christmas Eve. The neighbors who were looking after the house had called the police. When upon arrival it turned out that a window had been broken, the officers called a glazier to repair the damage.
Christmas dinner
This arrived quickly, but raised the police’s eyebrows: “We suspected that this glazier had just come from Christmas dinner and had looked too deeply into the glass,” the police wrote on Instagram. “For this reason we subjected him to a breath test.”
That didn’t turn out well for the glazier: he had indeed drunk too much. At the police station, a more extensive breath test revealed that he had drunk 3.5 times more than the legal limit to be allowed to drive. He had to surrender his driver’s license and the police made him call his boss himself to arrange for another glazier.
