Father kidnapped son (2) from clinic despite danger to life – large-scale manhunt by helicopter

After kidnapping a boy (2) from a hospital in Perleberg (Prignitz), the police are investigating his father (26) for violating his duty of care.

The boy was treated for a respiratory disease in the clinic and also ventilated, a police spokeswoman reported on Tuesday on request.

The father took the child out of the hospital on Sunday evening against medical advice. Since the child was in danger of death, a large-scale manhunt was initiated, including with a police helicopter.

According to the police spokeswoman, the father and child were found safe and sound in Wittenberge an hour later. The child was returned to the clinic. The police are now investigating the father for violating his duty of care. First, the “Märkische Allgemeine” (online) reported on the case.
