The Krefeld Pinguine were able to narrowly prevail against EC Bad Nauheim on Sunday. Afterwards, the situation not far from the stadium got out of control – because of some fans.
There are unpleasant scenes that happened after the second division ice hockey game between the Krefeld Pinguinen and EC Bad Nauheim. After the duel between the two teams, there was an attack on a bus with visiting fans. Police said that after the game on Sunday, the bus was stopped near the Yayla Arena and had objects thrown at it. At least two panes of glass were damaged.
To bring the situation under control, emergency services used pepper spray and batons. According to the police, 15 people had to be pushed back and were subsequently identified. Charges were filed against those involved for, among other things, breach of the peace, dangerous interference with road traffic and damage to property. In total, the officers issued 15 expulsions, but there were no arrests.
According to the police, there had already been provocations between rival fan groups during the game, which Krefeld narrowly won 4-3. This led to two assault charges after a woman suffered minor injuries. Two spectators were also sent off.
Even after the encounter, the situation remained tense. There were further arguments in a restaurant near the stadium, which were also registered by the police.
