SV Sandhausen has separated from coach Sreto Ristic. The third division team, which is in tenth place in the table, announced this one day after the 2-0 defeat at Viktoria Köln – it was their fourth defeat in a row. Ristic took over the SVS last summer; He averaged 1.57 points in 23 games.
“It was with great regret that I accepted the exemption in an open conversation with our President Jürgen Machmeier. “I accepted the big challenge with full conviction and passion at all times and was convinced until the end that I could still achieve the goals we had set together after the big upheaval in the summer,” Ristic is quoted as saying. He will “always remain a friend and fan of this special club.”
Assistant coach Roberto Pinto is also leaving the SVS; Dennis Diekmeier will remain with the club as an assistant. It is said that the search for Ristic’s successor should be completed around the turn of the year.
