Metti Forssell and Hanna Launonen won the Amazing Race program. The destination of the winning pot is already clear.
Friends Metti Forssell and Hanna Launonen won Amazing Race Finland program and a prize pot of 30,000 euros.
The two couldn’t even dream of winning in advance, even though getting more than halfway was their goal.
– The whole process has lasted almost a year and now this is coming to an end. At the same time, it’s heartbreaking, but we’re really excited about the end result! Metti Forssell describes to Iltalehti.
– Hanna said it well at the end of the program: “Fear in the ass and always full!” It sums up our competition atmosphere and motto, Metti continues with a laugh.

In the final episode of the show, the contestants had to complete challenging tasks in the city of Jaco, Costa Rica. Metti faced a big challenge right during the first task, when one of the contestants had to move on a sup board to the sea and dive with a mask from the depths of the sea.
The task was particularly difficult for Met, as he does not know how to dive.
– I’ve never been a water beast, and I can’t dive without holding my nose. I had anxiety and a panic attack in deep water. I couldn’t breathe when I realized I couldn’t dive.
The program’s security personnel took Met out of the sea in the middle of the mission. Oxygen saturation was measured from Met and the production discussed with Met about continuing the task.
– They said I can’t continue if I don’t calm down. They would ask if I wanted to cancel because I was in panic mode. I was just trying to calm down, Metti recalls now.
Metti thought that he cannot give up in the final and betray Hanna. He somehow managed to calm himself down and in the end he completed the task with merit.
– For me, the task was really challenging mentally and physically. I was exhausted when I came to the shore and I became sensitive when Hanna came to meet me. I didn’t give up and we still have hope, Metti continues.

The flight to Finland was tense, as Metti and Hanna were the last to leave for their homeland. The two believed that the task of the competitors in Finland would be to recall the events of the past season.
Metti also came up with a way for them to do the memory task.
– Based on our notes, I gave Hanna a small exam… Metti describes.
– Small! It wasn’t small! Hanna interrupts, laughing.
The repetition of the events produced results, and the duo got the memory task that had to be solved in Finland very quickly correct. By playing together, Metti and Hanna found their way to the finish line quickly and in the end they won the whole competition.
Criticism
During the program, the viewers have especially paid attention to Met and Hanna’s competition. According to some viewers, Met’s behavior has been inappropriate towards other competitors and his friend.
Metti and Hanna are aware of the conversations, although they have not read them themselves.
– Of course, constructive criticism is in order. If people comment on my speaking style, it’s good to reflect that maybe I wasn’t the best version of myself. But 99 percent of the text has been headless barking that makes no sense. It must be left to its own value, Metti begins.

More than ten years ago, Metti became public as ex-footballer Mikael Forssell’s spouse. He’s used to being in the public eye and people commenting on all kinds of things on social media. Metti states that people have the right to their opinions.
– However, that was a competition and there were many people involved. All teams had a different style of playing the game and being involved. That’s why there’s a big contrast to this whole thing. Others wanted to help, but we were there competing, says Metti.
– I have talked about the same with my husband, that we give our all on the playing field, but after the game we go home as friends, he continues.
Metti says that he is upset that people think he is the same in everyday life as seen in the program. However, this is not the case.
– You can’t say that you can draw conclusions from the program about what a person is like in their own life. We were definitely in competitive situations and both in the same state of mind, Hanna describes.

Metti’s job is to create social media content that is carefully thought out, beautiful and stylish. Amazing Race Finland – competition, Metti was seen as different from what he was used to before.
– In public, I’m always a futar wife in a certain kind of box. I wanted to show competitiveness and toughness in the program and that I also have drive just like Hanna, commented Metti.
Hanna, on the other hand, went public for the first time with the program. After the program, he plans to return to his normal everyday life and his day job, and not stay in the public eye.

Metti and Hanna also remind that the program has been cut a lot. The duo’s journey has been followed by TV cameras for several hours, but the program only shows a few dozen minutes per episode.
Metti feels that the image given of him was influenced a lot during the editing phase.
– We were given the narrative that we are the contestants of the program. Sections where competitiveness is highlighted were selected for the episodes. Leaving aside the thank yous in taxis or the empaths, the narrative is clear. However, viewers watch the program and believe what they see, Metti says.
Metti and Hanna plan to split the 30,000 euro winnings equally. The two are currently planning a joint 30th birthday trip together with their third friend. Both also plan to invest a portion of the winnings.
– I am extremely happy and taken that Metti included me in this. I don’t regret this for a second, Hanna decides.
