Media group Central Finland urges the readers of all its magazines to change the password for its services due to a suspected data security attack. The group includes more than fifteen provincial newspapers and many smaller media.

According to Keskisuomainen, the password for the media ID used in the company’s newspapers should be changed as soon as possible.

Director of the group’s digital business Kirsi Hakaniemi says in the Keskisuomalainen newspaper that the investigation is still ongoing, but a quick change is still recommended to ensure data security. Readers have also been sent an email with instructions on how to switch.

– We will inform you separately if the situation requires additional measures from the customer, says Hakaniemi.

The largest newspapers belonging to the media group Keskisuomalai are Keskisuomalainen, Savon Sanomat, Etelä Suomen Sanomat, Karjalainen, Etelä Saimaa, Hämeen Sanomat, Kouvola Sanomat, Kymen Sanomat, Aamuposti, Forssan Lehti, Iisalmen Sanomat, Itä-Häme, Itä Savo, Keski Uusimaa , Länsi-Savo and Länsi-Uusimaa.
