The Premier League club Everton FC from Liverpool has got a new owner. The club announced on Thursday that the new owner is the holding company Roundhouse, which in turn belongs to the American The Friedkin Group (TFG).
Friedkin Group acquired the British-Iranian by Farhad Moshiri majority of the shares, which was as much as 94.1 percent of the entire share capital.
Everton have struggled for a long time. It has sunk to the bottom of the Premier League. Moshiri became Everton’s largest owner in 2016.
The background of TFG is a US businessman Dan Friedkin. According to estimates, he has a fortune of about 6 billion dollars.
Friedkin’s company bought the Italian football club AS Roma already in 2020.
TFG CEO Friedkin is likely to become Everton’s board chairman.
Everton are currently 16th in the Premier League.
