A motorist left the road in Eindhoven on the night of Wednesday to Thursday. The driver rammed three trees on Veldmaarschalk Montgomerylaan. Both the driver and co-driver were injured by the impact.
The driver came to a stop dozens of meters further in the central reservation in the bushes. Both occupants were taken to hospital by ambulance.
There was chaos on the streets. Four trees, a bush and the road surface were damaged. A road sign was shattered. The car was severely damaged.
Police, fire brigade and two ambulances responded to the accident to provide assistance. It is still unclear how the accident could happen.
An initial test would show that there was drug use, but extensive blood tests must prove this definitively.
