Germans are said to have no sense of humor. Well, you can eliminate that prejudice with the Netflix series Achtsam Morden. It is a rare funny series about a murderous mafia lawyer mindfulness discovered after he has to dispose of the corpse of a client. The series contains elements of The Sopranos (the lawyer does not go to the psychiatrist, but to a gliding coach), Fargo (An leg disappears into a shredder) and The kidnapping of Heineken (messages via the newspaper). The murder of Gerrit-Jan Heijn – where a cut finger is meant to suggest that the ‘disappeared’ drug boss is still alive – also seems to be a source of inspiration.
