Armindo Sieb is still on loan from FC Bayern to 1. FSV Mainz 05 until 2026. The Bayern conqueror probably has a purchase option.
As “Bild” reports, 1. FSV Mainz 05 can sign Sieb for five million euros after the loan ends in the summer of 2026. The tabloid writes of a “real bargain” in this context.
According to the report, FC Bayern, in turn, has a buyback option that allows the record champions to bring the 21-year-old offensive player back to Säbener Straße. However, more than five million euros would have to be put on the table for this.
In the current season, Sieb has two goals and the same number of assists in 13 Bundesliga games.
Sieb provided the two assists in the most recent encounter against FC Bayern, which Mainz won 2-1.
“Armindo was incredibly important for us. He came in and showed a very, very great performance,” enthused Mainz coach Bo Henriksen after the game: “With his two assists, he proved that we can survive even without Jonny (Jonathan Burkardt, Editor’s note). That was extremely important for the entire team and our self-confidence.”
However, Henriksen still sees a need for improvement in Sieb’s fitness. “We know that he can only play 60 to 70 minutes, but we are working a lot with him to improve that,” emphasized the coach.
Sieb comes from FC Bayern’s youth team
Sieb comes from FC Bayern’s youth team. However, the striker was only on the pitch once for the Munich professionals. He was mostly used by the second team.
Sieb was already on loan to Greuther Fürth from 2022 to 2024. After his return to Bayern, he was given to Mainz on a temporary basis in the summer.
The U21 international’s contract with FC Bayern runs until 2027.
