Southampton FC are bottom of the Premier League table. Now the club has reacted to the negative development.

After 16 games in the Premier League, Southampton FC have sacked their team manager Russell Martin. The club announced the decision on Sunday evening – just a few hours after the clear 5-0 defeat against Tottenham Hotspurs. The club’s management left it open who would succeed the 38-year-old.

Martin only took over the club in 2023 and led it straight back into the Premier League. This season, however, there was no success: Southampton was only able to win one game out of 16 games. The last six matches only brought one point, which caused the club to fall to last place in the table.

This season the club only managed one win against Everton FC (1-0), there were also two draws and otherwise only defeats.
