In the 6th week of the Bundesliga, Bochum hosted Union Berlin at the Alte Fösterei Stadium.

Bochum’s top manager Ilja Kaenzig stated that they would object to the result of the match on Monday, December 16, and said, “In our opinion, the referee should have called off the match, but he did not.”
