Union-VfL scandal game ends in a draw

VfL Bochum’s Bundesliga game at Union Berlin was overshadowed by an object, presumably a lighter, hitting guest goalkeeper Patrick Drewes’ head. The bottom-of-the-table goalkeeper had to be treated and taken to the dressing room after the incident. Referee Martin Petersen sent both teams to the locker room and the game continued after more than 25 minutes. It remained 1:1 (1:1).
