Harry Kane could return from his injury in time for the end of the year against RB Leipzig. Coach Vincent Kompany is optimistic, but doesn’t want to take any risks.
Kane is still missing from the last away game of the year in Mainz (Saturday, 3:30 p.m. in the live ticker on t-online), but the striker’s completed running training provides optimism. The England captain has been working on his return for over a week.
However, Kompany emphasized that he would not take any risks – not with Kane and not with other injured players such as Alphonso Davies, Kingsley Coman (both torn hamstrings), goalkeeper Manuel Neuer (broken rib), Serge Gnabry (knee problems), João Palhinha (torn hamstring). and Hiroki Ito (retraining after metatarsal fracture).
However, there is also a chance for Davies to be available against Leipzig. But the Munich squad will probably only be complete again in the new year. Kompany does not expect a wider staffing level until the first game after the winter break on January 11th against Borussia Mönchengladbach at the earliest.
