Asahi Shuzo, Japan’s largest brewer and producer of the popular sake brand Dassai, wants to brew sake in space. To make the popular rice wine, it will conduct tests on fermentation processes in part of the International Space Station (ISS) to see how the difference in gravity affects this. If the experiment is successful and the sake is drinkable, the company will sell 100-milliliter bottles for a hundred million yen, or about 620,000 euros.
