René van der Gijp wonders whether Fidan Ekiz is a nice woman. “I sometimes read columns and then I think: girl, girl, girl, don’t make life too difficult,” said the Today Inside star.

Fidan Ekiz has a rather strange trait: she always makes fun of how chaotic she is, and how she forgets all kinds of things. She apparently thinks that clumsiness is a nice characteristic of herself, because she writes about it almost every week in her Woman column. Now the presenter has discovered what she suffers from, namely the condition ADD.

Survival

Not only her clumsiness, but also her hysteria predominates in Fidan’s columns. Last she wrote a whole piece about the stress that being a guest on Goedemorgen Nederland entails. She had bought melatonin for the night before and energy supplements for after waking up. “I prepare as if I am going on a survival trip.”

And that for a program in which you can say two sentences four times. Anyway, very stressful for Fidan. “How do I avoid sitting there like a zombie on the couch, feeling nauseous from sleep, or collapsing live?” she says. “There is a suitcase in the hallway for all the dresses I have to take with me, because once again I can’t choose.”

Exaggerated

René van der Gijp doesn’t handle it well, he admits Today Inside. “Is she a nice woman?” he asks table guest Wierd Duk, who has a child with Fidan, but with whom he is no longer together because of their constant bickering.

Wierd: “Yes… Hahahaha.”

René: “Yes, I don’t know. I have to say: I think it’s a really nice appearance and I think she gets out her words well and I really liked them on that Op1, but I sometimes read columns and then I think: girl, girl, girl , don’t make life too difficult.”

Night person

That column is impossible to get through, according to René. “Then I read a whole column about how she is a night person and that she has to go to Good Morning Netherlands, that she has to get up early and she doesn’t like that. Then I think: Phew, don’t make it too difficult, darling.”

Colleague Johan Derksen: “I also read it. I think Fidan has a sparkling personality that jumps off the screen. We would have liked to have her here, but Wilfred has had some problems with her and I think that is very understandable.”

Wierd: “Haha. There can be no question of that!”

Nasty collision

Wilfred has been blocking Fidan’s arrival at Today Inside for years because she once interviewed him critically in Op1, while as her then mentor he apparently expected preferential treatment. After the broadcast, it led to an extremely violent shouting match that shocked bystanders beyond belief.

Johan: “I don’t want to condemn it. I understand that Wilfred is not interested in that, because that was quite a nasty collision on TV.”

Wierd: “Yes…”

Almost colleague

Fidan almost became Wilfred’s colleague at SBS 6, because she was on screen for the new Telegraaf news show that will soon be shown every evening at 6 p.m. “I read that they approached Fidan. They brought in Art and that Miss Pepper (meaning Malou Petter, ed.), but then I think…”

“The management at Talpa know that Wilfred has the ambition to do something in addition to this. It’s incomprehensible when you’re on TV for five evenings that you also want a sixth day, but that’s his business. Things that he could do very well and would really like to do, they now go to complete strangers who approach them and come in.”

“Then I understand that Wilfred gets a kind of frustration…”
