FC Bayern’s women are on track in the Champions League. They defended their lead in the table with a clear win against Juventus Turin.
The FC Bayern footballers go into the final matchday of the Champions League group phase as league leaders. With the easy 4-0 (1-0) win against Juventus Turin in the stadium on the Bayern campus, the Munich team (13 points) defended their top position ahead of Arsenal FC (12). FC Bayern will be visiting the Londoners next Wednesday for the decisive game for first place.
Striker Jovana Damnjanović (22nd minute), Pernille Harder (52nd) and national players Klara Bühl (73rd) and Alara Şehitler (82nd) scored the FCB goals against harmless Turin players in front of 2,500 fans in the sold-out stadium. Under the eyes of national coach Christian Wück, the home team dominated the game for long stretches. Juventus around the German selection player Paulina Krumbiegel practically didn’t take place offensively.
After Bühl hit the ball against the crossbar, Harder and ultimately Damnjanović successfully took the deserved lead. After the break, Harder made things clear early on. The strong Bühl increased, Şehitler secured the final score for the team of coach Alexander Straus.
