During a Greenroom tour, the singer revealed which pieces she is currently experimenting with.
Billie Eilish revealed in an interview that she is working on new music again. The 22-year-old also talked about how writer’s block affects her emotionally.
Music on the go
Eilish is looking back on a successful year, especially with the release of her third studio LP HIT ME HARD AND SOFT, which is nominated for Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Record at the 2025 Grammys. Now, with a small puppy in her arms, she led reporter Anthony Mason from “CBS” through her backstage area. There she showed him her mobile studio, which consists of a rollable piano, laptops, monitors and speakers. “It goes everywhere [mit mir]and the piano too,” Eilish revealed.
Compositions are nothing serious (yet).
She then played Mason two excerpts of supposedly new music projects that she was working on with her brother and producer Finneas O’Connell has been addressed. In the first snippet, Eilish’s vocals can be heard, accompanied by a dreamy piano riff. In the second, her typically breathy vocals can be heard over a relaxed drum beat. “It’s just so much fun,” she told Mason. “And it’s not even serious.” When and whether these rough drafts will become truly complete songs remains to be seen.

Billie Eilish dealing with writer’s block
However, her creative work is not such a carefree process. The most-streamed musician on Spotify in August 2024 told “CBS” elsewhere about her writer’s block – a difficult but open topic for her. “It’s never pleasant,” she explained. “You never get used to it. It happens and you think, ‘What the hell?! I’ll never be able to do anything again.’”
