The press release of the Office of the President of the Republic states that the Pro Finlandia medal was awarded to Dahlgren and Ledin in recognition of their long-term work in culture.
The release states that Dahlgren and Ledin have significantly promoted relations between Finland and Sweden with their work and helped to create cultural ties between our countries.
Ledin is known in Finland especially for his hits Sommeren är kart. Dahlgren’s most famous songs are Vem tänder stjörnärna and Ängeln i rummet.

The Pro Finlandia medal is awarded to distinguished artists, writers and other representatives of the cultural sector. It is the only Finnish badge of honor on which the recipient’s name is engraved.
