The impressive attic of the Sint-Janshospital in Bruges will be given a new permanent purpose with the ‘Closer to Memling Experience’. On the ground floor of the museum you can admire seven Memlings. The painter made four of them especially for the hospital.

“We started from the fantastic images that our researchers made,” says Katrien Steelandt, e-culture coordinator at Musea Brugge.

“We separated all the figures from those images of Memling’s works and created new Memling works. Twelve new scenes were created and you can make your own creations on those scenes. By interacting on ‘touch tables’ you can add four elements those works change. The landscape, for example, you can view details, you can add elements yourself and you can designate your patron saint so that you can create modern Memlings.”
