I visit the dance performance with my brother-in-law Faith by Club Guy & Roni in the Stadsschouwburg Groningen. The performance features Mary, who sings the stars from heaven with a rather large and heavily haired Jesus doll in her arms. Afterwards we shuffle out through the hallway, enthusiastic and overwhelmed. “I didn’t know Jesus was that hairy,” I joke to my brother-in-law. “No,” he answers, “that is a close secret.”
