“Pamela is ingrained in my earliest memories with my mother,” Cyrus said.
Miley Cyrus has released her new single “Beautiful That Way,” which she recorded for the film “The Last Showgirl,” starring Pamela Anderson.
Tribute to Pamela Anderson
Cyrus wrote the ballad, which was nominated for a Golden Globe in the “Best Original Song” category, together with Lykke Li and Andrew Wyatt. The 32-year-old described her song to “Variety” as a “love letter” to the film.
She went on to emphasize that actress Pamela Anderson was a defining figure in her childhood: “Pamela is ingrained in my earliest memories with my mother,” Cyrus said. “We both adored Pam and still do. I took with me the emotions I felt for the time with my mother and the few moments we were able to spend with Pam. I thought a lot about what this film means to her, not just as an actress, but as the special person that she is.”

She was extremely impressed with Anderson’s character in “The Last Showgirl”: “I celebrate the development, and she did it in such a graceful way.”
This is what “The Last Showgirl” is about
In the Gia Coppola-directed drama, Anderson plays an aging revue dancer who has to find her way in Las Vegas after her show closes. Her first leading role in years received much praise from critics. “Anderson embodies her character with so much real feeling,” wrote the BBC, for example. “She finally gets a big, Oscar-worthy scene where she sobs and tears up her costumes. But the quiet despair that she captures beforehand is the true acting triumph.”
The Last Showgirl will be released in German cinemas on March 20, 2025.
