The three adorable leopard boys born at the Toronto Zoo are now just over a month old. It is still too early to see what gender they represent.
Next, the puppies will be awaited with a full veterinary examination and vaccinations. Before the weather has warmed up and the vaccinations are in order, they are allowed to live indoors. As they grow bigger and gain enough weight, they gradually get to explore the world around them. This will happen little by little during the spring.
Currently, playful and energetic puppies weigh 2748, 2724 and 3190 grams.
It’s endearing to watch from a video published by the zoo how the patience of the leopard mother is endless. The puppies climb on top of it and attack against it. One of the puppies climbs on the mother’s neck, bites and hangs in her ear. The mother responds to the puppy’s play with gentle licks.
The leopard is a large feline that lives free in Africa and South and East Asia. The adult leopard is on average 1-1.9 meters tall, but the largest individuals can grow up to 2.5 meters. Females weigh 30 to 90 pounds and males 40 to 120 pounds.
