Girona beaten and 6 out of 6 thanks to the Egyptian, who scored, and the Brazilian who returned in style after 11 games of absence. So much boredom and zero goals in Dinamo Zagreb-Celtic Glasgow
Certainties confirmed. Those of Liverpool oscillate between the past, such as Alisson who returns after eleven games of absence and is already decisive, and the present, which responds to the name of Mohamed Salah. The Egyptian scored the winning goal on the Girona pitch by converting a penalty, in a much less predictable challenge than expected. The Reds remain at the top with full points and secure a place for the round of 16. In Zagreb, however, Dinamo and Celtic were satisfied with a draw: it ended 0-0, with neither of them ever really trying to win it.

The match in Montilivi begins at a frenetic pace. Gazzaniga excels twice in the first seven minutes, on Gomez’s header and Nuñez’s close-range shot. Girona’s response is almost immediate: Frances doesn’t shoot well after Blind’s smooth shot and Alisson manages to neutralize the shot (12′), then the Brazilian opposes Gil, who is well found in depth but in a suspicious position. At the end of the first half the match suddenly reignites: Nuñez warms Gazzaniga’s gloves again (34′), four minutes later Alisson is called upon to make a great save on the left from the edge of Asprilla. The recovery isn’t much different. Following a corner kick, Robertson tries to surprise the opposing goalkeeper with a sharp hit to the near post, but Gazzaniga is careful. However, immediately before, Van De Beek intervenes badly on Luis Diaz. Referee Bastien is called back to the VAR and awards the penalty, Salah appears from the spot and displaces Gazzaniga and scores the lead (63′).

It’s not a good show, what goes on in Zagreb. Celtic confirms that their strength is compactness, the only flash of the first half comes directly in injury time, when Kulenovic cuts to the near post and concludes, without reaching the goal. The Scots become dangerous in the 50th minute: Kuhn runs away on the counterattack, comes back and shoots practically without fail, but Bernauer is in the right place at the right time and avoids the worst. Overall, the push from Rodgers’ team is more confident, as they try again with McCowan in the 72nd minute: Zagorac neutralizes in two halves. The best opportunity comes to Pjaca in the 80th minute: cross from the right by Ristovski, the former Juve player stands out undisturbed and Schmeichel denies him the joy of scoring with a reactive intervention.
