Due to the 0-3 defeat in front of the home crowd against 1860 Munich, Rot-Weiss Essen slipped to 18th place in the 3rd league table. The traditional club then pulled the ripcord and parted ways with head coach Christoph Dabrowski. A “hot lead” in the search for the new RWE coach apparently leads to a former Dynamo Dresden trainer.
