There are signs of a personnel change at Manchester United. Two positions in particular need to be improved. England’s record champions are apparently interested in national player David Raum from RB Leipzig.

Manchester United remains stuck in mediocrity. The new coach Ruben Amorim is therefore looking for reinforcements. In addition to the strike center, the left-back position is also a major squad construction site.

Bayer star Alphonso Davies, Milos Kerkez (Bournemouth) and Theo Hernandez (AC Milan) are considered candidates for this. But a German national player should also play a role in United’s plans.

David Raum apparently on Manchester United’s shortlist

As the TV channel “Sky” reports, ManUnited have David Raum from RB Leipzig on their radar. He should therefore be on the shortlist for the vacant left-back position for the English team.

According to “Sky” information, there was already contact between the player and the club last summer, and concrete figures were also discussed.

The 26-year-old was identified as a player who could fit well into new coach Ruben Amorim’s system. United are said to be closely monitoring the full-back’s development.

Raum has a contract with RB Leipzig until 2027. He was used three times at the European Championships in Germany. The defensive player has been out since mid-October with an ankle injury.

Contact with FC Bayern?

In November, Raum was asked about a possible move to a top club like FC Bayern in the “Bild” podcast “Phrasenmäher”. “If I were to speak honestly, I would say I have no idea what will happen after the season, but I have a contract here and everything is great,” replied Raum.

When asked whether there would be discussions between the player and the club, Raum became clear. “No, not at all. There’s no conversation, nothing. I can say that honestly and that’s why it’s not an issue for me at all.”
