In the 45-second “Reacher” clip, the ex-soldier is confronted with a new, formidable opponent.
Amazon Prime Video has released a new teaser trailer for the third season of the crime thriller series “Reacher” and also announced the start date. In just over two months, Alan Ritchson will be back in action as a muscle-bound detective.
Amazon announced the initial release date as February 20th. The season consists of a total of eight episodes, three of which appear on the first day and the rest weekly. Maria Sten will also be seen again in her supporting role as Frances Neagley, Reacher’s closest confidant.
Bigger, harder… more exciting?
Showrunner Nick Santora’s new season will be based on Persuader, the seventh book in the bestselling series by British-American author Lee Child. It appears Jack Reacher is involved in an undercover mission to rescue an informant being held captive by an old enemy.
The teaser suggests an action-packed sequel in which Reacher will face an equal opponent. His new antagonist Paulie, played by Dutch bodybuilder Olivier Richters, is not impressed by his gut punches. When Reacher tells Neagley that the giant is “twice as tall” as him, he replies: “The last time I saw a guy twice as tall as you was on Mount Rushmore.” He appears between scenes Sentence: “The bigger they are, the harder they fall.”

What happens after season 3?
Amazon has already officially confirmed a fourth season of “Reacher”. A spin-off called “Neagly” is also said to be in the planning stages.
