During BVB’s Champions League game against Dinamo Zagreb (3-0) on Wednesday evening, there was a dangerous incident in the Maksimir Stadium: rockets flew from the Dortmund fan block towards the field – and even surprised BVB goalkeeper Gregor Kobel.

“I didn’t fully understand that either, they were totally into me,” said the Swiss keeper after the victory. The rockets were fired in his immediate vicinity during the final phase. “From your own fans, that was still dangerous,” added Kobel, visibly irritated.

The incident highlights the controversial security measures before the game. Numerous BVB fans had previously complained about the controls at the border and at the stadium. According to media reports, some supporters had to undress in tents, others reported checks in their intimate areas. Borussia Dortmund said it criticized the measures and sent a complaint to UEFA.
