Athlete Niels Laros from Oosterhout has won the title in the under-20 category at the European Cross Championships in Antalya, Turkey.
The 19-year-old Laros, recently chosen as European athletics talent of the year, kept the British George Couttie and the Norwegian Andreas Fjeld Halvorsen behind him in the Turkish seaside resort.
Laros normally participates in competitions with the seniors. For example, he finished sixth in the 1500 meters at the Olympic Games.
