Won 4-2, dealt with the bitter round of 16 exit in the DFB Cup against Bayer Leverkusen during the week – and in the end even the opponents clapped Super Joker Jamal Musiala on the shoulder in appreciation. With the win on Saturday afternoon against 1. FC Heidenheim, FC Bayern got straight back on track.
And: The German record champions have also underlined their top position in the Bundesliga – despite difficulties against uncomfortable guests, as the Munich team themselves admitted after the game: “We made life difficult for ourselves,” said sports director Christoph Freund. Musiala (56th), who was still on the bench at the start of the game, brought Bayern back to winning ways with his first home goal of the season five minutes after coming on.
Leon Goretzka, who also came off the bench, followed up with a deflected shot (84′). Former Munich player Niklas Dorsch once again caused tension (86th), before Musiala (90th + 1) finally made the decision for coach Vincent Kompany’s team.
