NAC wins 0-2 against Sparta in Rotterdam. With the victory, the club from Breda has now firmly established itself in the middle bracket. NAC is in a respectable seventh place in the Eredivisie.
The first chance was for the people of Breda. Nick Olij, the Sparta goalkeeper with a past at NAC, had to go to the corner on a bet from Elías Már Ómarsson. On the other hand, goalkeeper Daniel Bielica made a mistake. The ball landed at the feet of Sparta striker Tobias Lauritsen, but the Norwegian shot over.
Olij had to save again from a Fredrik Jensen header, but was unable to prevent the opening goal in extra time of the first half. NAC captain Jan Van den Bergh headed home from close range.
Dangerous at set pieces
NAC is dangerous at set pieces, Sparta also noticed. In the 75th minute, Boy Kemper headed home from a free kick by Clint Leemans: 0-2.
It marked the seventh victory this season for the team that was promoted to the Eredivisie via the play-offs, but only the second on foreign soil.
