Real Gooische Mother Bo: ‘The children are only small for a while’
Bo’s children Boyd (9), Julie (6) and LouLou (5) had two more study days immediately after the autumn holidays, so the family could get away for no less than nine days. “The days on Curaçao are also nice and long, so you really get away from it all,” says the Real Gooische Mother. “We enjoyed it immensely.”
Three kilos heavier
Bo and her husband Paul arranged their trip with KLM Holidaysand could choose from multiple flight times. “We chose a flight that left at 3 p.m.; that was very relaxed. Especially with small children, I find it tough if you have to leave home at 4 o’clock in the morning.”
According to Bo, putting together the holiday online went smoothly. With KLM Holidays you can arrange flights, accommodation, airport transfers and rental cars. “You can decide everything yourself,” she says. “Via KLM Holidays For example, we have also arranged a rental car. We chose a beach house at Papagayo Beach. Then after a lavish lunch you can cook your own soup at home in the evening, otherwise you’ll come back feeling like a ten-tonner. I was already three kilos heavier, haha.”
Swimming among the turtles
Bo received around 800 tips, including to go snorkeling at Playa Piskado. “That was fantastic, you swim there among the sea turtles. The children spent 90 percent of the time in the water this holiday anyway.”
Other followers advised Bo to rent jet skis. “We did that. Both with a child on the back, too much fun.”
Lots of insights
Many tips were about good food and drinks, especially at nice local places. “We also went to Brass Boer by Jonnie Boer. They have delicious dishes there for a great price.”
For Bo, this holiday was mainly about being together with her family. “I have consciously thought about how nice we are having together. We also regularly put down the iPads and played games.
During these types of holidays I always gain a lot of insights. So I really want to have Wednesdays free for the children again. They are only small for a little while.”
