How do skateboarding and electronic music go together? This combination proves strikingly stylish in a new video from Kraftwerk. The German group has brought skateboard star Tony Hawk along to announce their “Multimedia Tour 2025” in North America, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of their album “Autobahn”.

Tony Hawk – an ardent admirer of Kraftwerk

In the 45-second YouTube clip, Hawk and three other skateboarders stand on a ramp and begin riding down one by one. As they jump, their bodies transform into computer-generated models. While the tour dates (all in March and April 2025) are shown, the band classics “Musique Non Stop” (1986) and “Autobahn” (1974) can be heard in the background.

How did this rather unusual collaboration come about? In fact, Hawk revealed in a Facebook post in 2014 that he was a big Kraftwerk fan. “I’m still into it; “These guys were true pioneers,” wrote the eleven-time skateboarding world champion at the time.
