Two people were injured in a traffic accident on the Drentse Mondenweg this afternoon. Three cars were involved in the accident near Nieuw-Buinen.
The emergency services, including an air ambulance, were called around 12:30 p.m. Emergency workers found three cars, one of which had ended up in the ditch.
Two victims were taken to hospital. It is unclear whether more people were involved in the accident. Water board employees are present because oil may have ended up in the ditch.
It is not known how the accident could have happened. The police are investigating.
