The man is also said to be the administrator of a WhatsApp group in which people incited ‘commitment of criminal offences’, the police reported on Friday. He is said to have shared information about violence with hundreds of members. It is not clear what exactly he sent.
On November 7 and 8 there was great unrest in Amsterdam surrounding the match between Ajax and Maccabi Tel Aviv. Many videos of violent incidents appeared online. This included Maccabi supporters and pro-Palestinian rioters.
The police say they will continue to investigate the incidents. They also check chat messages that were sent during that night.
Suspects
The suspect Hilversummer will be brought before the examining magistrate later today. It is not known whether more people will be arrested.
Thirteen other men were previously arrested in this case. Seven of them will appear in court on December 11 and 12.
