The following players are or were theoretically on the market and can or could negotiate with other teams, but their fate was or is in the hands of their respective previous teams because they were assigned the franchise tag:

- Brian Burns (EDGE, Panthers – Traded to New York Giants)

- Jaylon Johnson (CB, Bears – contract extended for four years)

NFL Free Agency 2024 – the most important dates
The new league year begins on Wednesday, March 13th at 9 p.m. German time. Only then will all trades and all potentially previously leaked deals be officially signed.
But the advisors of prospective free agents have been able to officially negotiate with teams since Monday.
