‘Duncan Laurence as Eurovision host? No!’

Bastiaan Ragas sees no point in the plan to use Duncan Laurence as presenter of the Eurovision Song Contest, should the song festival come to our country. “No!”

The Dutch entry Joost Klein is doing well at the bookmakers, so it is not completely excluded that he will win the Eurovision Song Contest this year. If that happens, the song festival will come to our country again. Will we then bring in Chantal Janzen, Edsilia Rombley and Jan Smit? Or do we use former winner Duncan Laurence?

Duncan as host?

If it’s up to Duncan, they’ll ask him. “I hope he wins and brings the Eurovision Song Contest back to the Netherlands. If that happens, I will sign up as a presenter,” he says A.D. Then with a grin: “Can I put that so-called English accent of mine to good use for once, and I also speak a little bit of French.”

Duncan does have confidence in Joost. “We have known each other for quite a long time, we once attended the same event together. Joost is very good at dealing with media and social media, which will work greatly in his favor.”

Bastiaan critical

Bastiaan Ragas, Tooske Ragas’ husband, likes that Duncan would think it would be ‘crazy’ to present the Eurovision Song Contest, but thinks we should better not ask him. “Yes, that would indeed be crazy after last year’s debacle…” he sneers X.

It is unbelievable that Duncan comes up with this, says Bastiaan. “How can I make this about me!

Weak brother

Story boss Guido den Aantrekker also thinks it is a bad plan. He expresses himself a little louder than Bastiaan and shouts: “The overestimation of this weak brother. Delicious.”

The chance that Duncan will be selected is very small, because he is known for his panic attacks and retreating movements at the very last moment.
