Werder Bremen did not want to agree to an early departure of loan player Rafael Borré during the winter transfer period – but the signs have now changed and the 28-year-old attacker could now leave early. Clemens Fritz, head of professional football, has now opened the door.

Borré, who was on loan from Eintracht Frankfurt until the end of the season, has since been sold to Internacional in Porto Alegre and presented there in the jersey of his future employer in mid-January. Borré signed a contract until 2028. “We have decided to start talks with Internacional. This is where we are right now. But it is still open in both directions,” said Fritz on Friday. The Colombian has scored four goals in 18 games for Werder so far.

The SGE, with whom Borré was originally under contract until 2025, can definitely plan for a transfer. At the beginning of the year, 6.4 million euros were mentioned, part of which would still flow to Werder if the Green-Whites were convinced to terminate the loan early. According to “Bild”, the SVW is now demanding 750,000 euros in compensation. The transfer window in Brazil closes on March 7th.
