Gytkjaer and Bjarkason knock out Cittadella and take another 2 points back from league leaders Parma. Pisa with 10 men scores 2-2 with Canestrelli. Zaffaroni’s team leaves last place in the standings, the Ligurians are increasingly in trouble
The midweek round changes the rankings. Goals from Gytkjaer and Bjarkason give Venezia a golden success against Cittadella and propel the lagoon players into second place: Vanoli’s team rises to 51 points and becomes the first pursuer of league leaders Parma, now at +5. A precious 2-0 also makes Feralpisalò smile, as they win the survival clash against Spezia and leave last place in the standings. At the Arena Garibaldi, a numerically inferior Pisa proudly achieved a 2-2 draw against Modena, thanks to a late header from Canestrelli.
Venice-Cittadella 2-0

The home team only needed three turns of the clock to break the deadlock. The play that changes the result is that of Gytkjaer, who on the first useful ball takes advantage of Altare’s spark and beats Kastrati from two steps. Cittadella’s reaction comes from a wild Pittarello, who first hits the crossbar with a nice header and then hits the left post. However, Gorini’s team did not materialize and at the end of the half they risked being doubled by Pohjanpalo and Gytkjaer again. The lagoon players close it out in the second half with Bjarkason, who, a quarter of an hour from the ninetieth minute, places the shot under the crossbar following a suggestion from Svoboda. Vanoli smiles and flies to second place, while the dark moment of Gorini’s team continues, with its seventh consecutive defeat.
Pisa-Modena 2-2

At the Arena Garibaldi, the first half says Pisa. Aquilani’s team started better and after a couple of rings found the 1-0 with Mlakar. Much of the credit goes to Caracciolo, who did well to find the striker with a nice throw from the back: the midfielder was then cool in overcoming Seculin and made it 1-0 just before half-time. Modena starts the second half with a different spirit and takes it back immediately with Abiuso, who forcefully passes Canestrelli and passes Loria on the way out. The game changes around the hour mark: Pisa remains with ten men after the expulsion of Valoti (who receives the second yellow card after a late intervention on Zaro) and the gialloblù take advantage of the moment to raise the center of gravity. The second goal came a quarter of an hour from the end with Strizzolo: the attacker was the quickest in the penalty area and found the right move in the scrum to turn the game around. Pisa won’t accept it and shows a proud reaction: in the 84th minute, Veloso’s corner finds Canestrelli’s winning header and it’s 2-2. Nervousness reigns at the end: Modena finds the goal at the end with Riccio, but the referee cancels it for offside at the start. It ends 2-2: Modena rises to 36 points and joins Cittadella in seventh place, Aquilani’s team joins Samp on 31.

Zaffaroni’s team showed a little more liveliness at the start and came through just before half-time with Felici. In the 38th minute, the attacker found himself in the right place to collect Hristov’s headed deflection with a nice right-foot volley and pierce Zoet. After the interval, Spezia raises the game and shows up several times in the Pizzignacco area: Cassata, Moro and the new substitute Di Serio try in order, but precision is lacking. In the 75th minute, it was La Mantia’s goal that froze Picco and closed the match: Pilati’s header ended up near the attacker, who doubled the lead from two steps away. It’s the point of the match: in the final the guests manage and the hosts are unable to find any spark. Feralpisalò leaves last place in the standings and rises to 24 points, -2 behind Spezia.
