The only stars and stripes presence at the Geneva Motor Show is that of Polished: the house of Newark (California) led Air Pure Rwd, a rear-wheel drive version of its AWD electric sedan, already available in the United States. The attempt to lower the threshold for access to the premium sedan and place itself in direct competition with the most renowned electric cars from European manufacturers such as BMW i5 and Mercedes Eqe is evident. For now, Air Pure Rwd like all other versions of the model, can be ordered but only in the countries where it is marketed: Germany, Holland, Norway And Swiss.

RANGE UPDATE

The debut of the new variant has allowed Lucid to introduce the availability of an even greater number of body colors and interior trim materials and to review the Stealth Appearance package: 20/21 inch wheels (based on trim), black aerodynamic inserts and dark finishes on 35 different components of the car, from the rear-view mirror caps to the interior of the headlights. Even on the Pure, the Lucid’s 800V technology allows charging at up to 350 kW, capable of storing 400 km in less than twenty minutes. Alternating current charging has a power of 22 kW. Among other things, with every Lucid Air purchased, customers receive a 22 kW Pulsar Max Wallbox and two years (or up to 40,000 km) of free scheduled maintenance. With a length of almost 5 meters, a width of more than 1.9 meters and a height of over 1.4 meters, the Pure does not go unnoticed beyond an aggressive and very personal design. It has a front boot with a capacity of 202 litres, ideal for storing smaller items. In the rear, however, there is a space with a capacity that varies from 456 to 627 litres.

FOUR VARIANTS

The Pure Rwd is powered by a single engine on the rear axle, capable of generating 325 kW/442 HP of power and 600 Nm of torque, combined with an 88 kWh battery, for a declared autonomy in the WLTP cycle up to 747 km. It is one of four variants for the European market and it costs money 85,000 euros. The second is Air Touring with two engines and all-wheel drive, for a maximum power of 462 kW/628 HP, to sprint from standstill to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds. The 88 kWh battery ensures a range of up to 725 km, the price list starts from 99,000 euros. Then there is the Air Grand Touring with the same dual motor configuration, but more power (611 kW/831 HP) for a 0-100 km/h time in 3 seconds flat. The battery has a capacity of 110 kWh, for a range of up to 839 km. Here we start from 129,000 euros. Finally, the splendid Air Sapphire: the most powerful version of the range, which will be introduced on the reference markets by the end of 2024: it has three electric motors and 920 kW/1,251 HP of total maximum power: this explains the leap from 0 to 100 km/h in less than two seconds and a maximum speed of 330 km/h. The autonomy, awaiting approval, should settle at around 620 km. All this raises the base price to approx 250 thousand euros.
